Solid film lubes reduce friction and wear, provide protection from damage during relative movement, and protects against corrosion. At CHT we typically use the lubricating pigment, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). We apply the lubricant by spraying it onto the part, similar to paint, and then cure it so that the lubricant bonds to the surface of the part creating a solid film.
